Erschöpfung (exhaustion)

Since 2021, I have been engaged in independent artistic research. It all started with the question:
What sculptures must feel like holding the same position for a lifetime?

My first approach to answering this question is performative. I place myself in positions until my body refuses to endure them any longer. While my physical capabilities are exhausted at this point, the suffering body raises questions about the emergence of (art) historical and socio-political images of the body and how the representation of these bodies came about in the first place. The title Erschöpfung therefore stands for the body and the self in the context of its history.
